Geology of Mt Bundey and Mount Goyder

The Mt Bundey Igneous Suite comprises the Mount Bundey Granite and Mt Goyder Syenite and associated lamprophyre dykes. The suite is dated at 1831 Ma and intrudes Palaeoproterozoic  metasediments of the Wildman Siltstone and South Alligator Group. A hornfels/skarn zone up to 300 m wide surrounds both intrusive systems.

Donkey Hill Prospect

During October, 12 rock chip samples were taken in the Donkey Hill area in northern-most EL 24468. The samples were collected over the old Newmont Australia Donkey Hill project (late 80’s to early 90’s) as well as along the strike length of the Donkey Hill anticline for approximately 3 km to the southwest. Results were encouraging with peak gold results of 9.4 g/t and 3.2 g/t with other supporting arsenic and base metals. Although the highest values are from quartz /arsenopyrite/pyrite veins at the Donkey Hill site itself, there are strongly anomalous values of gold and arsenic along the entire outcropping anticline and this warrants further work. A systematic soil sampling survey has been designed for the 2012 field season.
